Feature Proposals and Draft SpecificationsNew cm3 features are in development all the time (both for the core product and the modules). Proposals, briefs, and specifications for these features are created in a variety of formats: Some are formal, some are not. Documents that are well enough structured for general consideration by the cm3 user community are listed here. Projects that are being actively considered for development are listed below. Not all features that are in development are listed. (The cm3 product is undergoing constant development, with new releases and new features available every few months.) The briefs listed below are only those for which we seek active feedback from the user community.
New Tracking and Management Features for the Mailout Module
The existing mailout management module (included as a core CMS function) provides a robust platform for managing dynamic subscriber lists as well as preparing and sending HTML and text email messages to these lists. This proposal outlines new features that we plan to add to the mailout module as standard features in all future versions of cm3.
Full Versioning and Rollback - Development Brief
Version control of content within cm3 is currently handled manually by content authors using built-in functions such as copy tools, except in some websites where version control tools have been built as proprietary functions. The standard automated version control features that are planned for the next version of the CMS are outlined in this high level brief.
Shop Module - Printable Product Coupons - COMPLETED
List products in the cm3 shop, then ask customers to print a coupon off the screen and bring it in to a real world store to redeem. These products are not available for sale online.
Core Feature or Module - New Publishing Workflow and Notifications - COMPLETED
This document outlines the modification of cm3's core publishing workflow modules to accommodate review, "unpublishing" events, publishing job notifications, review and publish status permisions, and other new features related to distributed authoring for larger publishing communities.
Shop Module - Inventory Tracking - COMPLETED
A simple but effective inventory tracking system (i.e. depleting stock levels when orders are submitted) for the cm3 shop module
