Rider Hunt - Website & ExtranetThe Rider Hunt website was originally built to reflect the design of their global alliance partner, Gardiner & Theobald (www.gardiner.com). Gardiner & Theobald’s website was redesigned and therefore Rider Hunt needed to update their own site for consistency. A robust content management system was needed to incorporate the many different sub-sites needed for each location. A further need was an appropriate level of security to allow the individual offices to update their own content without accessing content belonging to others or getting in the way of other publishers. A delighted clientThis project consisted of two parts – the installation of cm3 content manager and the creation of the Rider Hunt Extranet. Apparently the job done was a good one: “Once we got the project started, development progressed quite rapidly. DDSN were flexible and able to offer us with useful ideas which made the most of our in-house resources and their expertise. The more we got to understand the capabilities of cm3, the more excited we got as the scope of application expanded. Beyond the overhaul of our original Web site, we were able to develop a solution that also met a number of specific needs - internal communications, project information resource, online version of a publication.”
Cindy Lee A rapid, cost effective development toolSince Rider Hunt were equipped with in-house web development skills they elected to install and configure the CMS software themselves, with DDSN’s help. After only half a day of training Rider Hunt’s IT manager was able to create a website using cm3. Once the site was up and running our expert services were engaged to perform functionality and design reviews of the templates created by Rider Hunt’s designers. We further supported the construction of a scaleable website and extranet by making sure that the chosen information architecture made the most of cm3’s dynamic publishing capabilities – to assure easy growth for the sites in the future. During the whole project, we focused on the independence of the client as a key goal, and the result was a powerful, scaleable website and extranet designed and built by Rider Hunt (with our guidance) on a rapid timeframe at a low cost. The Rider Hunt website is still in internal testing and is planned to be released to the public shortly.
