Version 3.9 of cm3 released - Advanced caching for high traffic websites
As always, the latest version of cm3 comes replete with a long list of new features. One of the most exciting additions to the product is a highly intelligent automated file-based content caching system for high traffic websites. Delivery of web pages can be sped up by a factor of hundreds.
 A key element of our approach to development is to listen to our customers and analyse each new project to identify potential product improvements. This release of cm3 included improvements to the general usability of the administration interface, a focus on high speed delivery of content, and upgrades to the extended application modules.
Please note that the feature list below is not a full list of the latest additions and enhancements to cm3, we've only listed some of our favourite new features below:
New Features
- Overhauled documentation for the "white site" example project provided with the core package, and a new version of the white site itself.
- An advanced new version of the content caching platform. The new file-based system intelligently updates its own cache objects when new content is published. The speed of content delivery can be sped up by a factor of hundreds.
- A range of additions to the macro language allow developers to mix the delivery of both cached content and dynamic content within individual pages.
- Administration system interface improvements. Updates in many parts of the system speed up work for authors and content managers.
- Upgraded user management tools including updated import/export options, user expiry and scheduling features, and additional reporting capabilities.
- A new built-in search system capable of relevancy matching and advanced criteria classification with no external indexing required. Developers can deploy advanced search with just a few lines of simple macro language code.
- Updates to the scheduling system to provide finer control over scheduled events such as cache management, email newsletter mail-outs, and automatic content updates.
- Module: A new version of the forums / discussion lists module.
- Module: A new version of the form builder / survey manager. This module provides advanced form construction with no coding, graphical reports, email responses, and more. The latest version includes unlimited questions and a new administrative interface with improved usability.
- Module: A new version of the e-commerce catalogue, shopping cart, and order management system. The latest version includes new search features, new online payment features, and more.
