Our own experience of building websites and encountering the problems of manipulating and publishing large volumes of information has allowed us to build an extremely valuable knowledge base in the area of CMS (content management system) solutions. We deliver our content management expertise in three ways: Off-the-shelf ProductsOur flagship product is of course cm3 content manager. Originally designed to make our development services more competitive, version 3 is sold off the shelf to website owners and developers as a platform on which to develop their own solutions. It is supplied with an object driven CMS application development back end and a powerful collection of pre-built management tools. The technology is in use today by customers such as World Vision, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Allied Pickfords, RMIT University, YMCA, Midas, and Hansen Corporation. However cm3 is not our only in-house product. We also provide others.
Implementation, Customisation, or Maintenance of Third Party SolutionsWe have gained qualifications and experience with many of the leading enterprise CMS software solutions, including Vignette, Red Dot, Microsoft CM Server, and NetCat. We understand intimately that a content management system is more than a piece of software - it is a business process that must be planned and implemented carefully to assure growth and efficiency. Due to our process-driven approach to the deployment of a content management solution and our proven technical experience with a wide range of software platforms, we have often worked alongside third party CMS software vendors to get a full solution running for the end customer. Purpose Built, Open Source, or Customised Content Management SystemsIntegrating a CMS solution within an organisation is a complex procedure, even at the best of times. The leading software products do not suit every situation perfectly, and even if you purchase one of these products you may need it to be customised for use in your environment, or integrated with other systems. Sometimes - due to budget constraints, market pressures, or opportunities to re-use or re-sell technology - the ownership of intellectual property may be an important issue, or you may wish to have a solution purpose-built for your particular needs. We can purpose-build content management systems in a variety of ways - from scratch, based on existing products, or using proven open source technologies as a starting point. (There are a range of open source CMS development platforms out there that we know and trust - such as Zope, Midgard, Freestyler, MySource, and OpenCMS.)
