Authoring Tools - Explorer System and WYSIWYG Editor

Powerful but easy to master authoring tools - the familiar 'explorer'-like content browsing interface and advanced WYSIWYG editor - ensure that CMS functions are intuitive yet highly flexible for authors, publishers, and administrators.

The Content Explorer

The easy to use administrative interface allows content managers to quickly and intuitively create tree-driven structures of content. All content at every level can be added, modified, deleted, tracked, published, previewed in context in real time, and have viewing or editing permissions set via this interface (depending, of course, on the user's level of access).

The "Content Explorer" is not the only mode in which content can be maintained. You can also use the integrated search system, as well as a range of other browsing modes, or custom forms can be set up by your website developer for quick and direct access to content within the central database.

The WYSIWYG Editor

The built in What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get editing system provides Word-like editing of content for the comfort of your content authors.

	Advanced text tools		For Managers The editor is easily customised so that your content authors see exactly the functions you want them to see. For Designers The editor helps enforce strict style management through the use of style sheets and content cleaning tools. For Authors The editor provides advanced, intuitively arranged functions similar to what authors will find in their favourite word processing package. For Developers The editor is modular - customise it, add your own functions, or pop it out of the standard administrative system to incorporate it into your own cm3 based content management interface. For Licence Owners No user based restrictions, completely web based with no software to install.

Third Party WYSIWYG Options

If you don't like the built-in cm3 WYSIWYG editor, or if your organisation has already purchased a third party editor, it's a simple matter to incorporate external tools into cm3's management interface. A standard integration option is provided for Ektron eWebEditPro, support is provided for Editlive, and just about any third party tool can be accommodated with some basic customisation work.
